Please welcome our new baby!
~Emily Rose~

Reborn December 9, 2004
4 lbs, 4 oz.
20 inches long
Little Emily Rose is a custom reborn for dear friend Cheryl. She is the first reborn I've made with a non-Berenguer doll. Emily Rose started out as a Chou Chou with open-and-close eyes.
|
First, Emily Rose was given a warm, sudsy bath to create a clean, even surface. Then she was dyed with a combination of rosy dyes carefully timed to give her skin a more natural tone.
Her skin was blushed and shaded with oil-based
colors that soak in, so they don’t require a sealant and blend into her skin tone naturally. Each crease
and roll was given special attention.
|
Every tiny part of Emily Rose was cared for from the tip of her button nose to the tiniest toenail. She was given hand-painted downy baby brows and delicate lashes to frame her new, bright blue acrylic eyes and match her hair.

Her tiny finger and toenails were given the finest of ivory tips with my chip-resistant technique. Emily Rose’s nose was opened and backed with felt for realistic depth.
|
Emily Rose was reassembled with her original jointed cloth body, but extra poly pellets were added to make a more realistic-feeling baby weight. Each vinyl limb was weighted with poly pellets and sterile sand and sealed, so she can be posed in all those adorable baby ways.

Her body and head are also weighted, so she will
feel like a real baby in your arms. Fluffy fiberfill in the limbs and body make her snuggly soft.
|
Emily Rose was given extra-special realistic baby hair. A blend of two colors of mohair were rooted strand by strand to create natural highlights and lowlights - just like real hair. The hair is secured inside her head with strong, clear glue.

Then Emily Rose's hair was sculpted to frame her sweet face, ears and neck. I left Emily Rose's hair a little longer than usual so it could be curled or styled any way her new mommy wants.
|
Emily Rose was dressed in a disposable diaper and a soft, cozy velour outfit and cute pink headband with bow, then wrapped up in a matching green gingham blanket. Pink is definitely her color!

Emily Rose can wear newborn and 0-3 months clothes.

Thanks for peeking in on Emily Rose.
You're the best, Cheryl, and I hope you love Emily Rose as much as I have loved creating her.
