Please welcome our new baby! ~James~ Reborn September 8, 2003 4 lbs, 12 oz. 22 inches long James arrived in our nursery as a 20-inch Berenguer LaBaby doll. There we showered him with love and attention to transform him into a beautiful lifelike baby. First, James was given a warm, sudsy bath to create a clean, even surface. Then he was dyed with a combination of rosy dyes to give his skin new life. His skin was blushed and shaded with oil-based colors that soak in, so they don’t require a sealant and blend into his skin tone naturally. Each crease and roll was given special attention. Every tiny part of James was cared for. He was given hand-painted downy baby brows to frame his sleepy eyes, and delicate, natural-length blonde lashes were inserted and secured from inside his head. His tiny finger and toenails were shaded and given the finest of ivory tips, then double-sealed with a chip-resistant semi-gloss finish. The inside of James’ nose is shaded for depth. James was reassembled with a jointed cloth body. Each limb is weighted with poly pellets, so you can pose him in all those adorable baby ways. His body is also weighted, so he will feel like a real baby in your arms. Fluffy fiberfill in the limbs and body make him snuggly soft. James' hands, feet and head were also weighted with poly pellets. His head will now need support when his new parent holds him. Then James was given a baby-soft, high-quality Kemper mohair wig in a warm golden blonde, sculpted to frame his forehead and curl around his little ears. His hair is securely attached and can be easily restyled with your fingers, gently brushed or curled with a warm curling iron. Finally, James was dressed in a diaper and a new cuddly blue and yellow puppy dog outfit to keep him warm. We like to dress our babies in soft fabrics to enhance the snuggling experience. James can wear newborn and 0-3 months clothes. James has been reborn from a child's toy to a collectible. He is not suitable for rough play. Cloud 9 Nursery is a smoke-free environment.
