Please welcome our new baby! ~Olivia~ Reborn April 13, 2004 5 lbs, 5 oz. 22 inches long Little Olivia arrived on our doorstep as a 20-inch Berenguer LaBaby doll. More than anything, she wanted a new mommy to take care of her, so we showered her with love and attention to transform her into a beautiful lifelike baby. First, Olivia was given a warm, sudsy bath to create a clean, even surface. Then she was dyed with a combination of dyes carefully timed to give her skin new life and create her unique biracial skintone. Further depth, tone and blush was added with oil-based colors that soak in, so they don’t require a sealant and blend into her skin tone naturally. Every tiny part of Olivia was cared for. She was given hand-drawn downy baby brows to frame her eyes, and delicate lashes to match her hair were inserted. Her new bright brown eyes were glossed to give them that added sparkle of life and to help secure her lashes. Her tiny finger and toenails were shaded and given the finest of ivory tips, then sealed with a strong, chip-resistant finish. Olivia’s nose was opened and backed with felt for depth. Oliva was given extra-special realistic baby hair. All her paint hair was removed; then each strand of hair (in multiple realistic shades) was hand-rooted. The hair is secured inside the head with strong, clear glue. Olivia's hair was sculpted to frame her sweet face, ears and neck. It is easy to style with a spritz of water and the help of a little styling foam or gel. The best part is the way her head feels when you cradle it in your palm - so soft and realistic! Olivia was reassembled with a jointed cloth body. Each limb is weighted with poly pellets and sterile sand, so you can pose her in all those adorable baby ways. Her body and head are also weighted, so she will feel like a real baby in your arms. Fluffy fiberfill in the limbs and body make her snuggly soft. Olivia was dressed in a disposable diaper and a brand new outfit chosen just for her. A snuggly lavendar fleece jacket covers the soft cotton long-sleeved onesie and matching pants. Don't forget her matching striped socks! Her magnetic pacifier, tiny silver ball earrings, and beaded name bracelet are special extras. We like to dress our babies in soft fabrics to enhance the snuggling experience. Olivia can wear newborn and 0-3 months clothes. Olivia has been reborn from a toy to a collectible. She is not suitable for rough play. Cloud 9 Nursery is a smoke-free environment.
