*Face*
Your first and most important decision is which face mold captures the look you want. Choose from several faces in each doll style: LaBaby, LaNewborn Moments, Special Edition, Carry Me. The most common style for reborning is the LaBaby because it makes a baby that is very realistic in size, feel and look. Special Edition and the new 22" LaBaby faces add $25 to the cost because they cost more unreborn.

*Size*
If you want a newborn or slightly older baby around 21-22 inches, you can choose a LaBaby or Special Edition face. If you want a preemie, you'll need to choose one of the 15" Carry Me or 17" LaNewborn Moments dolls. These will make 17-19" dolls.

*Skin tone*
Because I use dye and oil paint to tint the vinyl, I can create a baby of any skin tone from fair to very dark ... and anything in between!

*Hair*
Your baby's hair is a very important part of how he or she will look. The style of hair you choose can make the difference between a newborn look and an older baby. I typically use either rooted mohair or a Kemper mohair wig, but I will use any appropriate wig you choose (other wigs may change the price of the doll). Both rooted mohair and wigs make sweet babies and are soft to the touch. Rooted hair gives you more styling freedom and can come in curly, wavy or straight. Because I hand-dye and often use combinations of different shades, rooted hair also gives you more color options. Rooted hair costs $25 more because of the added labor involved.

*Limbs*
Your choice of limbs makes a difference in how the baby looks and feels. Partial vinyl limbs (1/4) make a baby feel more cuddly and more real. But full vinyl limbs make shopping for clothes easier because the baby won't require long sleeves and pants or tights. Both choices make for a cute display doll. Full vinyl limbs add $25 to the cost of the doll. Of course, if you've chosen a doll that is originally all vinyl (LaNewborn, Special Edition or Carry Me), there will be no additional charge for full vinyl limbs.

*Eyes*
If you've chosen an awake baby, you'll need to decide what type and color eyes you want for him/her. I use a variety of acrylic eyes - Glastic, RealEyes and Lifelike, for example - and Eyeco soft glass eyes. I only use the colors in those brands that I think are realistic. If you see a color in another brand that you think is perfect, I'll be happy to order them for you. Eyeco soft glass eyes add $10 to the price of the baby.
