Step Six: Wigging

The coloring and details are all finished ... now all you need is hair. Before you do any gluing, try the wig on the head. If you have more than one color option, try them all on to make sure you're getting the right match for the baby's skin tone and "personality." Move the wig around to find the right look, brushing the hair around with your fingers until you can get a good idea of what the baby might look like.

When you're ready, turn the wig inside out, tucking all the loose hairs inside the inverted cap. If there's a tag on the wig cap, cut it off as closely as possible to the cap so it won't create a bump once the wig is in place. Spread E6000 glue on the wig cap, making sure you don't put so much that the glue will squish out and get on the hair when you put the wig on the head. Place the cap on the crown of the head and roll the wig down into place out of its inverted position. Then slide and adjust the wig until you are happy with its position. Check around the edge of the wig to see if there are any places that need a little more glue, and add it if necessary. If you've got a little glue in the hair, wait till it dries and you can brush it out gently.

Let the glue dry before you try to style it. This glue dries fairly quickly.
